Purpose

NECA strives to provide the most current information to contractors on new methods, trends and opportunities in the industry. We provide a host of technical, management, and safety related seminars and workshops to members to help them maintain their competitive edge. Each year, NECA hosts the NECA Convention and Exposition for our membership. The convention provides a wide variety of technical and management seminars as well as an opportunity to network with fellow electrical contractors from across the nation. This annual gathering of electrical contractors also features a premier trade show and exhibition featuring the latest technology and implements to enhance the performance of contractors. Through careful consideration of both parties, NECA promotes harmonious labor-management relations and provides for the orderly settlement of labor disputes. The Council on Industrial Relations (CIR) is jointly sponsored with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) to peacefully resolve contract or labor disputes which could not be resolved by the local Labor/Management Committees. NECA also works with other trade associations within other facets of the construction industry to assure the most active, open and competitive bidding for electrical contracts, and to eliminate unfair trade practices. The NECA Government Affairs Department closely monitors legislation and its impact on electrical contractors as well as its bearing on the general public.
