NECA Student Chapters provide meaningful, practical professional development opportunities for students to explore and prepare for careers in the electrical construction industry.

NECA Student Chapters are supported by ELECTRI International, the local NECA chapter and contractors, and the participating college or university. These organizations commit to providing students with a variety of opportunities to develop professional skills and industry knowledge through experiences in the industry.

Student chapter programming will create opportunities for students, contractors, and educators to build relationships based on four pillars of success:

Awareness

Learn about opportunities in the electrical construction industry through tours, site visits, networking and educational events, internships, co-ops, and full-time roles

Engagement

Attend industry events to gain Beyond the Classroom experiences

Connection

Establish industry connections that support student and contractor relationship building and career development

Continued Growth

Gain hands-on experience through industry internships, co-ops, and full-time roles with NECA contractors

University of Wisconsin-Madison

The UW-Madison NECA Student Chapter is a subgroup of the UW-Construction Club. The Wisconsin Chapter NECA supports the chapter in attendance at the NECA Convention and our local chapter events. Annually the group competes in the Electrical Contractors Innovation Challenge (ECIC) hosted by ELCTRI International.
